What a great final! I wish we could watch more fights like this, classic judo.

YES!!! A great final, worthy to be remembered for long time! Vitaly Makarov, a superb technician, so japanese in his classical judo, against an even more awarded and qualified opponent, the great Yosuke Kanamaru, another genius of the throw…

They fight with everything they have from the start, avoiding and countering techniques that would make other opponent fly out the mat…and just to add something more, a life-time masterpiece ippon, left uchi-mata to a japanese from the russian, the very same uchi-mata that will threaten Lee Won Hee at Athens, 3 years later, at the olympic final. This is the judo of the next millenium, the fresh style/technique of the modern judo, but still very classic judo!…
