One of the highest level olympic finals ever: the 2004 -73Kg category, the superb world champion Vitaly Makarov against another korean legend, Lee Won Hee, who happens to be even better than his great opponent, dominating this final for his olympic gold.
Another fight worth of legend, the two giving all they got from the start. Fantastic techniques and a great ippon to finish the match. This is what judo is about…
Vitaly Makarov deserved the Gold Olympic medal, but the injury of the rib has disturbed him to get it. Nevetheless Vitaly Makarov is the outstanding sportsmen. Everyone remember his triumph at the Mundial 2001 in Munich where he has represented fenomenal technique especially in the final. And Vitaly Makarov has become the World champion one year after his fiasco at Olympic games in Sydney 2000. Not many people have managed to do this.
