1.Shundzikau – Strengh, tenacity, grip using momentum in the wheel and countering/overcoming the counter make for an inspiring and spectacular moment in modern Judo.

  13. Timm Gleeson Says:
    February 17th, 2009 at 9:04 am

Sobirov… Made advantage, position and executed a great counter, reading his opponents movements and intent… Great Judo!!! Congratulations Sobirov and congratulations to the remaining remarkable finalists.

  19. paul Says:
    February 17th, 2009 at 12:46 pm

Either 6 or 9, I did choose 9 as it is clean with high speed, perfect timing, basic technique but executed perfectly. (although it also applies to Sobirov)

  20. Bob Says:
    February 17th, 2009 at 12:58 pm

It was tough to choose but I liked number 2 it was a nice technique and not a strength move

  21. Bill Says:
    February 17th, 2009 at 2:38 pm

I agree with Bob – No 2 showed timing, speed, power and complete control throughout the move finishing with a perfect lock just in case!

  30. Jo Says:
    February 18th, 2009 at 1:51 pm

The choice is between Number 6 and Number 9 for me as they are real judo (no wrestling) ippons!! Although the uchi-mata and seoi-nage of 3, 4 and 8 made the choice more difficult.

a public vote is not a secret vote. so everyone has the right to inform his friends and fans. that is a legitim procedure and no manipulation, which will be implied with this remarc.

  38. Judovision.org Judovision.org Says:
    February 20th, 2009 at 1:05 pm

    @Ernst..

No such thing was implied.. It’s all in the eye of the beholder :)
Informing friends & fans is great! More people should do so…

  45. D. Bernier Says:
    February 25th, 2009 at 9:31 pm

4 and 9 are technically superb. But when I watch a 101 ippon DVD, the last ippon I want to see is the one that will make me say to myself OUCH! So I voted for no. 10.

  46. rob cornavaca Says:
    February 26th, 2009 at 6:17 pm

drop seio nage from sato is flawless pure technique, seio nage from camillo shows drive, force and technique. Uchimata from nishioka left side lots of skill.
wrestling ippons is not judo just adaptations from sambo and wrestling. Judo is call the gentle way is about technique, momentum, speed and agility. All this judokas show these principles.
